Chimney paint is an resinous bitumen base paint, black in Colour, specially prepared coating system with extraordinary capacity to withstand high temp-
erature concrete surface. It can be depended upon to stand up under operating temperature up to 300o c. The dry film will have no deterioration on
acid or any other hot corrosive fumes. Recommen ded for painting the outer surface of cleaned dry concrete surface and the inside (in between the
concrete and fire brick lining) of the chimney. On drying, the paint film gives a protection of hot surface corrosion and forms a weatherproof water-
proof seal.
Chimney paint is an anti - corrosive, tasteless, odour less, toxic black bituminous High build coating compounded to special formula for
protecting the internal & external surface of Chimneys, pipes, fluid containers etc. against severe corrosive conditions. The efficacy of an anti corrosive coating is dependent on its moisture resistant property for the smallest penetration of moisture is sufficient to corrode the steel surface underneath. Many coatings are water- proof initially, but the property wears off after awhile. A good protective coating must possess strong adhesion to the surface on which it is applied.
Chimney paint can be regarded as being far superior to cement wash for it is permanent finish, throws no sediments and dispenses with periodic scraping. Whether the surface is steel, worn out galvanised iron, wood or concrete.
Chimney paint can be easily and quickly applied by brush or spray and it dries rapidly leaving a glossy black finish The resultant film is tough and elastic if applied strictly in accordance with instructions. It is recommended for use where periodic inspection and re coating present no undue difficulties. Surface should be cleaned dry concrete, degreased, descaled iron and steel or other metal surfaces, masonry etc. Not recommended over surfaces loosely adhering to the concrete or basic metal. Chimney paint is easy to apply in the same manner as ordinary paint. The surface to be coated should be clean and free from moisture. Stir the solution well before applying and use clean brushes.Allow adequate ventilation for application.
