KAVASSU LAFARGE – UKAS

Home / KAVASSU LAFARGE – UKAS
KAVASSU LAFARGE- UKAS waterproofing compound is based on latest research and technological developments and permanent ‘remedy’ against roof – top water leakages, seepages & severe corrosive conditions for metal & concrete structures. This speciallly grade coating is based on quality organic petroleum chemicals, resins, non-crystalline compound polymers, Rubber latex, SBR & mineral hydrocarbons. KAVASSU LAFARGE- UKAS is a dispersion of a selected grades of ethyl vinyl acetate & styrene butadiene styrene rubber polymers, natural asphalts, amino resins in emulsified form with distilled water & stablised inert fillers. Selected fibers are used as fillers to form a surface, resistant to considerableshock and vibrations. KAVASSU LAFARGE- UKAS is thixotropic brown colored polymerized asphaltic
emulsion with ultimate adhesion for sticking on any kind of surface. A coating, when set/dry is completely impermeable to water, forms seamless black surface and shows a marked resistance to variation in climatic conditions, industrial fumes, and salty atmospheres. v is an anti – corrosive, tasteless, odourless black bituminous high build polymerized coating compounded to special formula for protecting the internal & external surface of storage water tanks, pipes, fluid containers, concrete, brick surface, DPC floor, internal & external walls, RCC slab, PCC, Aluminum sheets, Asbestos sheets, CGI sheets, asphalted surfaces & much more against severe corrosive conditions. The efficiency of an waterproofing & anti corrosive coating is dependent on its moisture resistant property bcz the smallest penetration of moisture is sufficient to corrode the steel surface underneath. Many coatings are waterproof initially, but the property wears off after a while. A good protective coating must possess strong adhesion properties to the surface on which it is applied.

The concrete surfaces must be thoroughly clean and frost free. All dust and laitance shall be removed by rigorous wire brushing, grinding or grit-blasting. All rust, scale and protective lacquers shall be removed from metal surfaces. Any oil or grease shall be removed with detergent.

Single Component, ready-to-use.
Excellent use to all surfaces (RCC/ Plastered/ Lime Terraced/ Cement Concrete/Wooden & Metal surfaces). No skilled labour required in application. Very Economical and excellent durability.
KAVASSU LAFARGE – UKAS can be regarded as being far superior to cement wash for it is permanent, throws no sediments and dispenses with periodic scraping. Whether the surface is steel, worn out galvanised iron, wood or concrete. It provides the safest, most efficient and economical protection against severe corrosive conditions & water seepages. It can be useas bitumen primer whether the surface is Steel, worn out Galvanized Iron, Wood, Brick, concrete & lime surfaces.

The use of a primer is always required on porous surfaces. On non-porous surfaces application of primer is not normally required except where glass or glazed surface are to be permanently immersed in water .Kavassu Lafarge – UKAS is mixed with water in 1: 7 ratio, It is a one part brown colour liquid for brush application, supplied in 200 Liter barrels. Primer should be used on concrete, stone, brickwork, timber and unglazed edged of ceramic tiles, glass and Aluminum. One thin coat should be applied and allowed to dry until tack free before application of neat coat. (Normally up to 60 minutes). When the surface is cleaned completely, apply KAVASSU LAFARGE- UKAS in two coats with a brush or a trowel @ 0.8 liter – 4.6 liter per M 2 in 2 or 3 coats. No water should be added to KAVASSU LAFARGE- UKAS when applied as a coating. Using a clean, dry brush, complete coverage shall be ensured, but over priming shall be avoided. KAVASSU LAFARGE – UKAS shall be applied when the primer is tack free. Iron and steel must be protected with diluted primer prior to final coating.

KAVASSU LAFARGE – UKAS shall be tooled to a smooth finish. A minimum of surface lubricant as neat coat may be used to assist the process.
