Kavassu Gunitex – AFA is suitable for all application, where exceptionally high early strength, and extremely thick layers are required. Cement mortar admixed with Kavassu Gunitex – AFA sets rapidly, hence quick placing of wet mortar is required.
Kavassu Gunitex – AFA produce concretes suitable for placement in relatively cooler atmospheric conditions assuring an uninterrupted continuation of work. The tendency of concrete to exhibit efflorescence is strongly suppressed by the use of Kavassu Gunitex – AFA. It combines with soluble present in wet cement paste and reacts chemically to lower the freezing point of fresh concrete. It simultaneously brings about acceleration in setting time even at low temperature. For achieving the best results gauging water must be kept to a minimum to obtain a dry consistency. Kavassu Gunitex -AFA make the mix homogenous & ensure good pump ability. It avoids sudden congelation. It increases strength very rapidly.

Instruction For Use
Kavassu Gunitex – AFA can be used with all types of normal cements. The substrate should be clean and free loose particles and preferable damp. It is recommended to use fresh cement The addition of AFA should be done in the course of discharging of concrete through pressure nozel by means of suitable dosing devices. Under normal circumstances AFA enables quicker demoulding of formwork As the age of the cement can have a negative influence on the setting property of the mix. The product is sensitive to the type of cement hence a preliminary test to check setting and the 24 Hour strength of the cement planned for use in a project.

The consumption is normally in the range of 3 to 12 % of binder weight over dosing above may result in a decrease in final strength. Since the rate of acceleration of setting of concrete depends on various factors like quality of cement, grading of aggregates, working temperature etc, a preliminary test under site conditions is essential to determine the exact proportion of – to be added to achieve Kavassu Gunitex AFA maximum results. At air temperature upto Kavassu Gunitex – AFA should be added at a rate of 0.4 to 1.5% of cement weight.

Kavassu Gunitex – AFA must be stored at a minium 50C and maximum 350C (optimum temperature for storage and performance is 200C). Must not be stored in normal steel containers as the pH can cause corrosion that might cause the performance of the product. It must be stored in HDPE barrels for best results. Must be agitated prior to use by mechanical stirring or re circulation pumping. It has a self life of 6 months. Performance
