Application Areas
SHALIMAR’S KAVASSU PU SEALANT is specially formulated for structural joint /PQC that will be subjected to dynamic stresses. It is used for making permanent high strength elastic bonding in Construction, Automotive, Industrial and Marine applications. Ideal for bonding of Metal (Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Steel, Copper etc.),Rubber (Natural Rubber, Synthetic Rubber, Silicone Rubber, EPDM etc.), Natural Materials (Wood,Plywood, Leather, Cloths, Paperboard etc.). & Inorganic (Concrete, Mortar,Natural Stone, Tile, Glass, porcelain etc.) and plastics (Nylon, PVC, ABS,Polycarbonate etc.),

Surface Preparation for joint sealant:
1. For existing expansion/ precast joints, remove all loose aggregate, dust, old caulks, grease or other compounds from the expansion joint.
2. Use a manual racking equipment & brush for cleaning of joints. Thenuse moisture free & oil free compressed air to blow out the fine dust.
3. If desired, mask off the areas surrounding the expansion joints for creating a well defined & aesthetic appearance to the channel.
4. Now a coat of primer should be painted or sprayed over the joints(inside surface) with the help of Shalimar epoxy resin primer-250.
5. Now backer rod or polyethylene rod /strip or any conventional backer rod material if required should be inserted inside the joint which should be 50% more than the joint width.
6. After touch drying of the primer, load cartridge in to gun fill the joints by pouring the material inside the joints accordingly with the help of pouring gun, spatula or grout pump.
Six months when properly stored in sealed pack at temperatures of 18-30 degree. Do not expose to excessive cold or moisture.
